5 Star Production Studio

Inside a fast-moving Atlanta recording studio, I built repeatable structure across daily operations, client support, and a 75-intern training pipeline — keeping work moving with discretion and coverage.

The Environment

A professional recording studio that moves fast.

5 Star Production Studio is a professional recording studio in Atlanta, Georgia, where daily operations moved quickly across client sessions, staff scheduling, facility needs, intern support, and leadership priorities.

On the operations side, I supported the structure behind the studio’s day-to-day work — scheduling, staff coverage, payroll coordination, client needs, facility support, intern training, and follow-through when leadership was unavailable or focused elsewhere.

The Challenge

The risk was not that work would stop.

Artists have specific needs. Sessions have to run cleanly. Interns need direction. Staff need coverage. Clients expect discretion. Behind all of it, the details still have to move — whether leadership is in the room or not.

The risk was that work would keep moving without clear tracking, ownership, or follow-through.

The Work

Three operational lanes, all moving at once.

  • 01Daily operations — scheduling, staff coverage, facility needs, payroll coordination, session logistics, and follow-through.
  • 02Client & studio support — rider coordination, confidentiality protocols, session support, and high-profile artist needs.
  • 03Talent & training — intern onboarding, program structure, training materials, SOPs, and hiring support.
Structure Created

From real-time decisions to repeatable structure.

Before
In the moment
Decisions depended on who was available; direction flowed through senior leadership.
After
Repeatable
Structure across scheduling, staffing, and logistics — with coverage when leadership stepped away.

The internship program became a working pipeline: clearer expectations, onboarding, training materials, and SOPs — supporting discretion in a high-profile environment that included Grammy-winning artists and industry professionals.

Outcome

Stronger coverage, smoother days.

  • 75+ interns trained through a structured program.
  • 15–20 hires supported as interns moved into paid roles.
  • Operations could continue moving when senior leadership was unavailable.
Reflection

Structure inside speed.

5 Star moved fast by nature. My role was to bring structure to the moving pieces — so the team, clients, interns, and daily operations had the support needed to keep work moving with discretion and follow-through.
